Monday, December 23, 2024

Anantapur: The Congress party, under the leadership of APCC president YS Sharmila, has unveiled its inaugural election pledge for the AP elections. Named the “Indiramma Abhayam” scheme, it assures Rs. 5,000 for each impoverished family. Sharmila announced this commitment during the Nyaya Sadhana Sabha in Anantapur, specifying that the funds would be disbursed in the women’s names. She emphasized the scheme’s aim to provide security and alleviate poverty among disadvantaged families, citing the legacy of late Rajasekhar Reddy’s impactful initiatives under Congress governance.

Sharmila criticized the developmental stagnation in AP over the past decade, attributing it to the administrations of Chandrababu and Jagan, asserting that AP’s progress hinges on Congress leadership. Additionally, she highlighted the lack of action by Jagan’s government regarding special category status, contrasting it with other states’ strides in development.
