Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy paid a visit to the residence of senior BJP leader Jithender Reddy on Thursday, extending an invitation for him to join the party. Jithender Reddy, who had aspirations for the Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat under the BJP ticket for the upcoming elections, faced disappointment when the ticket was allocated to former minister DK Aruna instead. Expressing dissatisfaction with this decision, Jithender Reddy received a personal visit from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, who extended an invitation for him to join the Congress party.
This potential move is anticipated to shake up the BJP’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, with speculation suggesting Jithender Reddy’s inclination towards joining the Congress. With the BJP having announced its second list of candidates, DK Aruna has been designated for the Mahabubnagar seat, a position Jithender Reddy also expressed interest in contesting. Notably, in the 2014 elections, Jithender Reddy contested under the BRS banner and emerged victorious.
