In a recent NDA legislative party meeting held in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Chandrababu Naidu reiterated that Amaravati will continue to serve as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, putting an end to discussions about multiple capitals. He advocated for the development of Visakhapatnam as the state’s economic and modern capital.
Expressing gratitude for his selection as the leader of the coalition legislative party, Naidu emphasized their responsibility to honor the public’s decision and maintain their trust. He stressed the need for cooperation from the central government for the state’s development, particularly regarding the completion of the Polavaram project.
Despite setbacks such as flood damage to the project’s diaphragm wall, Naidu pledged to ensure its completion and provide water to every acre in the state by connecting rivers. He criticized the previous government for the state’s decline over the past five years, promising to prioritize constructive politics over retaliatory actions.
Naidu underscored that the role of Chief Minister is one of service, not dominance, pledging to engage with the public alongside his ally, Pawan Kalyan, as equals. Additionally, he assured that future visits by the Chief Minister would not disrupt normal activities, with no closure of shops or blockage of roads. He emphasized that his convoy would not disrupt traffic signals or impede the movement of other vehicles.
