Amaravati: In response to the recent storm and its aftermath, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu held a press conference and expressed concerns about the government’s response to the cyclone’s impact. Chandrababu Naidu acknowledged the inevitability of storms but stressed the importance of effective damage control. He criticized the YSRCP government for what he deemed a failure in mitigating the damage caused by the cyclone and providing adequate relief measures.
During the conference, Chandrababu highlighted the anticipated benefits of completing the Polavaram project, emphasizing its impact on the Krishna delta. He also underscored the importance of timely irrigation through projects like Pattiseema to address storm-related challenges.
Naidu expressed his concerns over the unfortunate circumstances, revealing that seven farmers had reportedly committed suicide in cyclone-affected areas. Additionally, he pointed out the challenges arising from drought, citing the inability to sow crops in 26 lakh acres and sparse yields in areas with insufficient rainfall.
