BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha posed a poignant question, asking whether Telangana girls would still be confined to the kitchen if Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were to contest elections and enter Parliament. Kavitha staged a sit-in protest at Indira Park Dharna Chowk, organized under the banner of Bharatiya Jagriti, urging for the abolition of GO No. 3, which she argued unjustly impacts women’s employment opportunities.
Later in the day, Kavitha addressed the media, criticizing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for neglecting the employment prospects of female youth. She called for the immediate repeal of the GO that discriminates against women in employment. Asserting that International Women’s Day had spurred them into action, Kavitha demanded the swift implementation of GO No. 41, which aims to provide justice to women.
