Vijayawada: Today, AP Congress leaders initiated the ‘Chalo Secretariat’ program, focusing on unemployment and the Mega DSC issue. PCC Chief Sharmila was apprehended by the police at Karakatta for advocating for the Mega DSC. Tensions escalated as Sharmila was removed from her vehicle, leading to a standoff when she and other Congress leaders attempted to stage a sit-in on the road.
Sharmila reported sustaining minor injuries to her hand during her arrest and criticized Jagan for failing to fulfill his promises made upon assuming power. She asserted her determination to continue the struggle until all remaining teacher positions are filled. Following her detention, Sharmila was served with 151 notices by the police.
