Kakinada: AP Congress President, YS Sharmila, strongly criticized her elder brother, AP Chief Minister YS Jagan, asserting that the present YSRCP government lacks the essence of their father YSR’s administration. Sharmila accused Jagan of undermining welfare schemes and tarnishing YSR’s legacy, contending that his five-year rule had led to the state’s deterioration. Despite personal sacrifices for the greater good, Sharmila expressed disappointment at the unfulfilled promise of delivering positive change to the people.

Sharmila emphasized YSR’s dream of the Polavaram project and highlighted the swift initiation of its foundation stone within six months of YSR becoming CM. She questioned Jagan’s commitment to the project, criticizing the delay and contrasting it with YSR’s proactive approach to agriculture. Additionally, Sharmila criticized Jagan for what she perceives as a dictatorial construction of grand structures, noting his apparent alienation from MLAs and the stark difference between YSRCP and Jagan’s governance.

The Congress leader pointed out the discrepancies in Jagan’s cabinet formation, questioning the appointments of only a few among the 18 individuals who had resigned in support of Jagan. Sharmila portrayed Jagan’s leadership as divisive, causing alienation and discord among those who contributed to his rise to power.
