Vijayawada: Tension flared up in Undavalli, Amaravati region, as APCC President YS Sharmila was detained by the police along with several Congress leaders. They were en route to the Chalo Secretariat program when intercepted by police at Karakatta. Amid a heated exchange, Sharmila and other leaders were forcibly removed from their vehicle and placed into police custody, sparking outcry from Congress members chanting slogans against the CM and condemning police actions.
Sharmila had organized the Chalo Secretariat in solidarity with unemployed protesters demanding the release of the mega DSC. Despite resistance, they were transported to the police station, with Sharmila experiencing a fall during the process.
