‘Kushi’ team full kushi with positive reviews

This Friday’s release Kushi is a crucial outing not just for the lead pair, but also for its director and production house. So, there is a lot of anticipation on the film from all quarters.

After Geetha Govindham success, Vijay didn’t taste a decent hit. His last film Liger ended as an embarrassing debacle at the box office. Samantha also didn’t score a promising hit in recent times. Her last film Shakuntalam tanked heavily and ended as a huge flop. Director Shiva Nirvana also disappointed with his last film Tuck Jagadish. Even Mythri Movie Makers also needed a big commercial success after back-to-back failures with Amigos and Meter.

Kushi released amidst a lot of positive buzz due to various factors like impressive pairing, chartbuster songs and a lovely trailer. The romantic entertainer managed to secure unanimous reviews from overseas premieres and the first shows in Telugu States. Despite a few liabilities in the story and the screenplay, the commendable performances from Vijay and Samantha coupled with well-penned emotional scenes seem to have worked in favour of the film.

Going by the first reports, Kushi is definitely a big confidence booster to all those who are involved. It will surely give a huge relief to Vijay and Sam who needed a good film to end their flop streak. Also, Shiva Nirvana can heave a sigh of relief because he made amends after his previous offering failed to strike a chord.

Kushi is likely to take a strong opening in all territories. As word of mouth is encouraging, there is a good chance that the film will have a strong run at the box office in the first weekend.
