Bandi Sanjay’s recent phone tapping allegations have triggered a forceful response from KTR, who didn’t take long to take to Twitter and inform them that he would be issuing legal notices to the BJP chief. KTR left no doubt that unless Bandi Sanjay publicly apologized within 48 hours, he would be compelled to take legal recourse. Even with his senior status as Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, KTR felt upset at Bandi Sanjay’s seeming ignorance about the intelligence operations.
KTR called Bandi Sanjay’s allegations “cheap” and “third-class” and asked him to come up with solid evidence to support the allegations. Challenging directly, KTR asked Bandi Sanjay to come up with if there were any facts relating to the allegations. He also cautioned that not withdrawing his words and apologizing would have legal repercussions. KTR tagged the BJP leader as staging a “cheap political drama” for selfish reasons and taunted him as being a puppet of his “Delhi masters.”
Recently, KTR has been assertive that legal notices would be sent to whoever makes frivolous accusations of phone tapping. The actual number of notices issued and the next course of action are not known, however. Contrarily, Bandi Sanjay maintains that he had already produced evidence of phone tapping during an investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and has provided further evidence to prove his point.
If KTR is convinced that legal actions will scare Bandi Sanjay or any other political leader from making these accusations, then it can be said to be a rather optimistic assumption. The scenario keeps unfolding, with both leaders refusing to budge from their stance.
