Telugu audiences have always found deeply felt rural dramas appealing, and the film, Kothapallilo Okappudu looks to continue that tradition. The recently released trailer, from Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media introduces a bright village landscape of romance, laughter, and good plot twist.
The film is directed by Praveena Paruchuri who made waves with her critically acclaimed works, C/O Kancharapalem and Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya. She is taking on multiple positions in this project; she directs and produces the film under her production company, Paruchuri Vijaya Praveena Arts, and as especially for this project she plays a large ensemble role.
At the heart of the story is Rama Krishna, a free-spirited village youth who runs a local record dance studio. He’s deeply in love with Savitri, who appears to understand his affection. One day, she calls him to meet her near a haystack — what he imagines will be a romantic moment quickly takes a surprising turn. What follows alters his life completely, hinting at a deeper, possibly spiritual twist in the tale.
The movie features Manoj Chandra and Monika T as the main leads, both first-timers portraying their fresh energy well. Many talented actors including Ravindra Vijay, to help convey the necessary emotional core.
In the music, the film has a soulful score by Mani Sharma, and Varun Unni’s background score helps elevate the narrative’s emotional core.
Kothapallilo Okappudu is scheduled for release in Theatres on July 18 and hopes to deliver a mix of rustic story and emotional based drama to its viewers.
