Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani has bid farewell to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) by resigning from his MP post and primary membership of the party after a meeting with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. While announcing his intention to join the YSRCP, he received acknowledgement of his MP resignation. However, after a subsequent meeting with CM Jagan, Kesineni Nani alleged betrayal by Chandrababu Naidu, claiming that 60% of the TDP in the NTR district would be vacated.
Despite the shift, two notable leaders and followers of Kesineni Nani in Mylavaram, Bommasani Subba Rao and Ganne Narayana Prasad, expressed their commitment to remaining in the TDP. Both leaders, who met with Nara Lokesh, asserted their loyalty to the party even after Kesineni Nani’s departure.
In Vijayawada West constituency, M S Baig, son of M K Baig, along with local leaders, held discussions with the party’s state president K Atchannaidu to evaluate the party’s status in the area. They affirmed their decision to stay with the TDP and expressed their commitment to strengthen the party further in the Vijayawada West constituency, pledging full support to Atchannaidu’s recommendations.
