The leak not only affects the film’s progress but also impacts the 2,000 VFX artists working on the project. A police case has been filed regarding the leak, and the team has requested that the photo not be shared. Additionally, they have announced a reward of ₹5 lakh for anyone who can identify the person responsible for the leak.
The statement reads: “We have been working tirelessly on Kannappa for the past eight years. For the past two years, our team has dedicated themselves to this project. We are deeply disappointed by the unauthorized leak of a photo from the film. This leak affects not just our work but also the lives of 2,000 VFX artists. We have filed a police report and request that no one share this photo further. Anyone who shares it will face legal consequences. We are offering a ₹5 lakh reward to those who help identify the person responsible. We hope for your cooperation and thank you for your support.”
Kannappa is a pan-Indian film produced by Mohan Babu, with Preeti Mukundan as the female lead. The film also stars Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Sharath Kumar, and Mohanlal in prominent roles. The film’s shooting is nearly complete, with Akshay Kumar reportedly portraying Lord Shiva and Prabhas as Nandi.
