Tamil star Suriya’s ‘Kanguva’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2024. Touted to be a fantasy action drama, the film is helmed by Siruthai Siva and jointly produced by K.E. Gnanavel, V. Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the banners of Studio Green and UV Creations.
In a recent interview, producer Gnanavel revealed that ‘Kanguva’ is set to be a two-part series. He said, “We wrote the story for part 1 and part 2. We have finished the first part but have yet to begin production of the sequel. It took 185 days to complete the shooting of ‘Kanguva Part 1’. The second part will start at the end of 2025 or early 2026. We are planning to release Kanguva 2 in 2027 January or summer.
He additionally added, “If part 1 is executed well, it will heighten the expectations for part 2. We have something exciting for the audience at the end of Part 1 to hook them for the sequel.”
Kanguva promises to be a grand visual spectacle, backed by a massive production. The film is anticipated to be Suriya’s most expensive project to date, with a release in 38 languages, slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 10.
Suriya will be seen in a dual role for Kanguva, with Bollywood actor Bobby Deol taking on the role of the antagonist. Disha Patani is the female lead for this action flick. National award winner Devi Sri Prasad is composing the musical tunes.
