Universal star Kamal Haasan’s long-delayed vigilante thriller Indian 2, a sequel to his iconic blockbuster ‘Bharateeyudu’, which was supposed to hit the screens on June 13th, is likely to be postponed to an indefinite date due to the pending post-production activities. The main reason for the change in the release date of Indian 2 seems to be its director, Shankar Shanmugam, who is currently busy with Ram Charan’s Game Changer.
As Shankar is under immense pressure to complete Game Changer in the next two months and make sure that it hits screens in the second half of this year, the release plans of Indian 2 are likely to be changed because there is an adequate portion of post-production work left to be completed.
Though an official announcement about the new release date has yet to be made, reports suggest that the makers of Indian 2 informed all their buyers about this development. They are currently looking to release the film on July 18th. But there is no clarity on whether all activities will be completed by that time or whether the release may be pushed further to a new date.
Shankar is currently busy wrapping up the minor portions of Game Changer on short schedules. After completing these schedules, Shankar will return to the post-production activities of Indian 2. So, it is clear that Indian 2 stands postponed from its original date.
Indian 2 stars Kajal Aggarwal as the female lead, and it features an array of artists in different roles. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer. Lyca Production is bankrolling the film.
