Wednesday, December 25, 2024

Kamal Haasan is a versatile actor who can fit into any character irrespective of his age. This is why he earned the sobriquet ‘Universal Actor’. Paying no heed to his age, the Dasavataram actor continues to mesmerize the audience by pulling off challenging characters with great aplomb.

After going through a decade of low phase with unsuccessful films like Manamadan Ambu, Viswaroopam, Uttama Villain, Viswaroopam II, Papanasanam and Cheekati Rajyam, Kamal made a comeback of sorts with the blockbuster hit, Vikram in which he played his age and impressed everyone with his stupendous performance.

The overwhelming success of Vikram seemed to have provided a great impetus to Kamal because he signed a spate of projects after it. He is currently the busiest actor in South India.

Kamal is currently working on the sequels to his iconic social thriller Indian. He is simultaneously shooting for Indian 2 and Indian 3, both of which will be completed in the next few months. After this, he will join the shooting of Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life which started rolling last year.

He has also agreed to work with Tamil director H. Vinoth for a high-octane action episode which is likely to go on floors this year. Also, he plans to team up with Lokesh Kanagaraj for the Vikram sequel.

It is already a known fact that Kamal is playing a substantial role in Prabhas’ science fiction thriller Kalki 2898AD which is going to release in two parts.

Even with such a jam-packed schedule ahead, Kamal has signed another interesting project which has KGF fame stunt choreographers duo Anbariv( Anbu and Arivu) as directors. The formal announcement of this film was made recently.

Kamal will need to shuttle different cities and complete the shooting formalities of all these films in the next 18 months. It is quite appreciable that at the age of 69 years, Kamal is taking no break from films and is on a signing spree.
