The makers of Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer unveiled the ‘Showcase’ (trailer) ahead of its grand release next week and it showcases Rajinikanth as a wounded tiger who goes on the prowl to hunt down his enemies. The two-minute trailer is Rajini’s one-man show from the onset as it is packed with plenty of whistle-worthy moments that will wow his fans to the core.
The initial portions of the trailer have Rajinikanth playing the role of a responsible family man who does household chores. But, there is another side that presents him in a violent and menacing avatar. He goes on such a terrifying rampage that his wife and daughter are so panic-stricken with the way he ruthlessly slays his enemies in his house while displaying nonchalant emotions. There seems to be a very strong reason behind Rajinikanth’s hidden anger which drives the conflict point in the film. Remember, he is the father of a police officer.
The showcase starts with a heavy-duty action episode with a few armed men fighting against an unknown opponent. Rajini seems to be suffering from a rare disorder that sees him display only extreme emotions – either to stay humble or to behave like an untamed animal. When some anti-social elements take root, Rajini has no other option but to switch to his beast mode.
The showcase is a feast for mass movie lovers. Rajinikanth sports a salt and pepper look and packs a solid punch with his trademark mannerisms and style quotient. His swag is on display till the end of the glimpse. He looks terrific in action episodes. Director Nelson Dilip Kumar designed a character that will cater to Rajini’s fans to the fullest.
Anirudh Ravichander’s stupendous background score amplifies the setting. All in all, Jailer looks like a Paisa Vasool entertainer with vintage Rajini in an electrifying role.
Produced by Sun Pictures, the film is slated for release on August 10th.
