The Income Tax raids on the Congress Senior leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s house and offices are currently happening. The raids started as early as 3 AM and have been continuing. The IT officials reached the residence of Ponguleti and his offices and also his native place Kalluru simultaneously and started the raids.
The officials have been questioning Ponguleti on probable tax evasion scenarios. They have been checking the IT returns filed by the politician. The officials are also checking the documents and inquiring about the cash transactions made in recent times.
This is not the first time that the IT raids are happening to Congress leaders. Ponguleti recently hinted that the IT raids will happen to him anytime soon.
Srinivas Reddy is going to file his nomination today to contest in the assembly elections. He is going to contest from the Paleru constituency in the Khammam district. Knowing about the raids, the supporters of Ponguleti reached his residence and staged a protest against the IT officials.
