India’s most celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli, who achieved global acclaim with films like Baahubali and RRR, is gearing up for his next project which is going to be a globe-trotting action adventure. It will feature Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu as the lead character with many renowned artists in prominent roles.
While Rajamouli and his team are maintaining utmost secrecy and making sure that no other details of this highly anticipated project are divulged before they officially announce, interesting rumours continue to surface in the media quite often.
The latest speculation is that seasoned Tollywood star Akkineni Nagarjuna is likely to appear in a significant role in this tentpole film. Reports are rife that there is one pivotal role that has a lot of depth and importance in the narrative besides that of the lead protagonist.
For this character, Rajamouli is looking to cast a familiar actor who can fit into it perfectly. Nagarjuna is said to be the forerunner for this role. If this news turns out to be true, SSMB29 marks the first collaboration of Rajamouli and Nagarjuna.
Previously, Nag appeared in the film ‘Rajanna’ which was directed by Rajamouli’s father and script writer Vijayendra Prasad. There were reports at that time that Rajamouli directed a few action sequences in this film.
Nagarjuna also expressed his desire to work with Mahesh Babu on a couple of occasions. Moreover, the fact that Rajamouli has developed a habit since Baahubali to cast more than one hero in his films lends credence to these rumours.
