Universal star Kamal Haasan long delayed patriotic drama Indian 2, a sequel to his 1996 iconic blockbuster with the same name, is finally seeing the light of the day after being in production for nearly five years. The shooting formalities of this Shankar Shanmugam directional were halted several times and the team faced numerous challenges to complete it. Despite the inordinate delay, the buzz surrounding Indian 2 is quite terrific.
Indian 2 is set for release in multiple languages. In Telugu, the craze for this sequel is on the higher side. As per the latest reports, the dubbing rights of Indian 2 have been snapped for a whopping 20 Crores by a renowned distributor. As Shankar commands good popularity among Telugu audiences, there is solid competition to grab the rights. Also, the fact that Kamal Haasan’s previous outing Vikram turned out to be a blockbuster in AP and Telangana further increased the stakes on Indian 2.
Indian 2 is set for a grand release on July 12th. It is going to take an impressive opening in South India and register strong numbers in the first weekend. Apart from Kamal Haasan, the film also features Siddharth, Kajal Agarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, SJ Surya, Bobby Simha, Vivek, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Brahmanandam, Gulshan Grover, and Akhilendra Mishra, among others.
