The big producer DVV Danayya would end up in the history of Telugu Movie books as the producer of RRR which has won both Golden Globes and Oscars for India with a straight Indian film for the first time. On this occasion, he has cleared a lot of air regarding many rumors associated with him and the movie.
Ever since RRR ended up in the final four nominations of the Oscars, it was widely speculated that the producer Danayya funded the entire promotion and they have spent 80 crores in total. Responding to this rumor, Danayya declared that he didn’t spend even one penny on the Oscar promotions and he had no idea if someone spent it or not. He added that 80 crores on promotions is nothing but a hoax created by a brainless person who has no idea how business works and declared that they might have spent 10-20% of the rumored amount. The producer of RRR also stated that promoting a movie is a healthy process and it is indeed an appreciable thing by Rajamouli and the team. Expressing his modesty over not presenting at all the International promotions of the Oscars, Danayya claimed that all was well between him and the RRR team and he chose to be far from the limelight.
Danayya is now producing a movie with the Powerstar Pawan Kalyan which was tentatively titled ‘OG’ under the director Sujeeth of ‘Saaho’ fame. This movie’s regular shoot will begin in the month of April and gets wrapped up before the actor-turned-politician starts his full-fledged election campaigning.
