New Delhi: The Delhi liquor policy case has sparked nationwide interest, particularly in the two Telugu-speaking states, with the involvement of BRS MLC Kavitha as an accused. Recently, Kavitha’s custody under the Enforcement Directorate (ED) came to an end, leading to her appearance at the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi today. The ED officials have requested a 14-day extension of her custody, citing ongoing investigations and the interrogation of several suspects.
Amidst entering the court premises, Kavitha made striking remarks to the media, expressing her resilience even if she were to face temporary incarceration, likening herself to a washed pearl. She voiced confidence in maintaining high spirits, criticizing the case as not pertaining to money laundering but rather political manipulation. Kavitha highlighted the political affiliations of some of the accused, including one joining the BJP and another aspiring for a BJP ticket, alongside allegations of significant financial transactions. She dismissed the case as baseless and remained confident in her eventual exoneration.
