High tension prevailed in Avanigadda today as both Janasena and Telugu Desam Party called for Maha Dharna to question the ruling party over the promises broken during their regime. The situation became tense when the dharna reached in front of MLA Simhadri Ramesh Babu’s office. A large number of Police were deployed to avert the dharna.
The Police authorities warned that Section 144 was imposed and there was no permission for a dharna. Including TDP leadership Council Buddha Prasad, other TDP and Janasena leaders were detained at their homes, and pickets were arranged on all the roads leading to the MLA’s house.
YS Jagan during his Avanigadda tour last year promised to do developmental works costing Rs. 93 Crores and the opposition leaders questioned the CM and the ruling party about that.
