The Andhra Pradesh High Court has raised concerns over the ticket price hike and special shows planned for the upcoming film Game Changer, starring Ram Charan. During a hearing on Friday, the court expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s decision to allow early morning shows, despite previously announcing a ban on benefit shows.
The court questioned the rationale behind permitting screenings beyond midnight, directing the Home Department’s Principal Secretary to review the permissions granted for shows after 1 a.m. It further observed that allowing such screenings indirectly contradicts the government’s stance on benefit show cancellations.
Emphasizing the need to prioritize public safety, the High Court advised against permitting special or benefit shows. The bench noted that producers should not rely on high ticket prices and multiple screenings to recover their investment in big-budget films.
The court adjourned the case to January 24 for further hearings.
