Renowned music composer Devi Sri Prasad (DSP), known for his unique musical style, recently shared an interesting experience during a podcast, which is now making waves on social media.
Recalling an incident from the film “Gaddalakonda Ganesh,” DSP revealed that he was approached to recreate a song for the film. However, he declined the offer, as he had set a rule for himself not to compose remake songs. “When director Harish Shankar requested the song, I politely refused and stepped back for the sake of my principles. Harish Shankar later explained this during the film’s press meet, which he didn’t have to do. But he did it to safeguard my reputation,” DSP stated.
Impressed by DSP’s integrity, Harish Shankar shared the same video on his social media platform X and praised the composer, saying, “In times when people speak for attention, you stood by your values, Devi. This is your culture. Not just your music, but your character is also being talked about now.”
The post has now gone viral, receiving immense appreciation from fans and the film fraternity. While Harish Shankar is currently working on “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” with Pawan Kalyan, DSP is busy with multiple upcoming projects.
