Hyderabad: BRS leader Harish Rao strongly criticized the arrest of MLC Kavitha, denouncing it as undemocratic, illegal, and unethical. He pointed out the pending case in the Supreme Court and accused authorities of strategically arresting her on Friday, taking advantage of the court closure over the weekend to tarnish their reputation through political vendetta. Rao alleged a BJP conspiracy behind Kavitha’s arrest, condemning it as a deliberate attempt to undermine them politically.
Recalling previous statements by BJP leaders regarding the arrest, Harish Rao accused them of acting as if they were ED officials and orchestrating Kavitha’s arrest. He highlighted ongoing announcements by the BJP over the past year and a half, insinuating a calculated political move ahead of the parliamentary elections. He claimed that Kavitha’s arrest, particularly following the Election Commission’s statement, aimed to morally weaken the BRS party and KCR, alleging collusion between the BJP and Congress to gain political advantage.
BRS working president KT Rama Rao condemned the misuse of power and constitutional institutions for political vendetta during the BJP’s tenure. He emphasized the upcoming Supreme Court hearing on March 19 and pledged to address the ED’s actions, asserting a commitment to legal recourse. Rao expressed dismay at the ED’s conduct and remained confident that justice would prevail, affirming their resolve to continue the legal battle.
