During the pre-release event held in the first week of January, the makers of Telugu superhero film Hanuman vowed to donate Rs 5 for every ticket sold after its release on January 11th to Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Megastar Chiranjeevi who attended the event made this announcement on behalf of the team. This noble gesture at a time earned huge applause from all quarters.
Keeping the promise, team Hanuman has reportedly donated 2.66 Crores to the trust of Ram Mandir ahead of the historical opening in Ayodhya on January 22nd. As per an official statement, a total of 53,28,211 tickets were sold all over the country for Hanuman. Previously, they donated 14.85 lakhs from tickets sold for premiere shows.
Hanuman is the first film in Prashanth Varma’s cinematic universe which is based on the mythological character of lord Hanuman. The film struck a chord with moviegoers across the country and emerged as a massive hit at the box office. The film collected close to 170 Crores gross so far.
Teja Sajja played the titular role and Niranjan Reddy is the producer.
