‘HanuMan’ opts for paid premieres as last resort

Telugu film ‘Hanu-Man’ is touted to be the first superhero film of India as it is based on the mythological character of lord Hanuman. The eye-popping visuals in the first teaser that was unveiled last year grabbed nationwide attention and made everyone curious about this small film despite lacking a star-studded cast.

Although the film has been carrying a lot of anticipation due to the delightful teasers and trailers, it is facing many difficulties in finding an adequate number of screens due to heavy competition from other Sankranti biggies.

With no other option left, the makers of Hanu-Man took a gutsy decision and opted for paid premieres across the Telugu States on January 11th, which is a day before its original release date.

They initially planned to screen premieres only in select locations. However, it is now heard that Hanu-Man will have premieres in most of the cities in Andhra and Telangana. Shows will start as early as 6 pm on January 11th. The bookings for these premieres will open today.

The team is very confident that the universal storyline and the stunning visuals will strike a chord with the audience. So, they feel that opting for paid premieres is the only way they can get a good number of screens as Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram occupied 99% of the single screens on January 12th.

Directed by Prashanth Varma, Hanu-Man has Teja Sajja as the lead character. It is a production of Niranjan Reddy.
