Hansika Motwani’s Quash Petition Rejected

Tuesday, December 9, 2025

Actress Hansika Motwani faced a legal setback as the Bombay High Court dismissed her quash petition in a domestic violence case. The case was originally filed based on a complaint by her brother’s wife, TV actress Muskaan James, against Hansika, her brother Prashant Motwani, and their mother Jyothi. The dispute arose after Prashant and Muskaan, who married in 2020, decided to separate in 2022, leading to allegations under the domestic violence law.

Earlier this year, in February, the Mumbai Sessions Court had granted anticipatory bail to Hansika and her mother, allowing them temporary relief from arrest while the case proceeded. Following this, Hansika and her mother approached the Bombay High Court seeking to have the case dismissed entirely, citing lack of merit in the allegations.

The High Court, however, rejected their plea, dealing a blow to Hansika’s attempt to terminate the proceedings. The ruling means that the domestic violence case will continue, and the actress along with her family will have to respond to the charges as the legal process moves forward.
