Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram has been in the news quite often because of so many rumours and controversies ever since it was announced last year.
The first controversy raked up when Trivikram scrapped some episodes a few days after the shooting commenced. Mahesh reportedly expressed displeasure over the fight sequence composed by KGF stunt masters Anbu and Arivu in the first schedule. So, they immediately took an unceremonial exit.
A few days later, the shooting formalities were temporarily halted as Mahesh was not fully satisfied with the script. So, Trivikram completely changed the script and came up with a new one. The filming started afresh after Sankranti.
Later, Pooja Hegde backed out from the project due to unknown reasons. There were rumours then that Mahesh Babu was the reason behind sacking Pooja from the project. Though the real reason behind her sudden exit was not revealed, Trivikram quickly replaced her with Meenakshii Chaudhary.
Meanwhile, cinematographer PS Vinod walked out of the project due to the inordinate delay in its completion. He was replaced by Manoj Paramahamsa.
SS Thaman’s expulsion from this project also came up for discussion so many times in the last one year. Many rumours made rounds that Mahesh wants Thaman to be replaced. However, the team persisted with him after Trivikram’s assurance.
The latest controversy following the release of the second single Oh My Baby is the biggest of all because the lyricist slammed Mahesh Babu’s fans for their negative feedback on the song lyrics and tune. Fans are not fully satisfied with the song and criticized it badly on social media platforms.
The producer quickly came to the rescue of Ramjogayya Sastry, who penned the lyrics for that song.
Whatever may be the box office outcome, Guntur Kaaram will remain as the most controversial film in Mahesh Babu’s career. Besides facing numerous production challenges, the film raked up many controversies and also witnessed so many rumours.
The film is slated for release on January 12th.
