Producer Rajeev Reddy has described the upcoming film Ghati as “an action-packed story with strong emotional depth.” Co-produced with Sai Babu and directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film stars Anushka in the lead role, with Vikram Prabhu, Chaitanya Rao, and others in key supporting roles. Ghati is scheduled for theatrical release on September 5.
Speaking to journalists in Hyderabad on Monday, Rajeev Reddy said, “The story is set along the Araku-Odisha border and focuses on illegal ganja trafficking. Anushka delivers a performance on another level, and the visuals are spectacular, making it a visual treat for the audience. We filmed in a remote village in Odisha, where thousands of fans gathered outside her hotel to catch a glimpse of her. On two or three occasions, crowd control required police intervention. Anushka enjoys nationwide popularity. There is potential for a Part 2 of Ghati, which we will consider if the film performs well.”
Reddy also shared updates on other projects under his banner, stating, “We are currently producing a horror-comedy entertainer starring Varun Tej and Merlapaka Gandhi, with 80 percent of the filming completed. Script work is underway for the second season of the Arabian Kadali series, and we are planning an original film exclusively for Amazon. Several other stories are also in the scripting stage.”
