Hyderabad: Despite police crackdowns on ganja supply in Hyderabad, the sale of ganja persists. Recently, smugglers have been enticing youths by selling ganja disguised as chocolates. The Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) confiscated ganja chocolates from a grocery store in Jeedimetla Ramreddy Nagar, Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Shibu Kumar, a resident of Bihar, was found in possession of 150 ganja chocolates valued at Rs 11,500.
In a separate incident, Sitaram Singh, also from Bihar, operating a grocery store in Patancheru on the city’s outskirts, was apprehended for selling ganja chocolates. Police seized 1,960 ganja chocolates worth Rs 30,000 from his possession. Additionally, authorities raided two paan shops in Nizampet, confiscating 114 packets of banned cigarettes valued at Rs 16,000.
