Tamil directors are struggling to taste success in Tollywood. It is an undeniable fact that they are not able to deliver strong content catering to the nativity of Telugu audiences. Top-league Tamil filmmakers like AR Murugadoss (Spyder) Linguswamy ( The Warrior), Venkat Prabhu( Custody), and Anand Shankar (NOTA) are some of those who failed to catch the pulse of moviegoers here and scored debacles in recent times.
Now, all eyes are on big-ticket director Shankar Shanmugam who is handling Ram Charan’s much anticipated social drama Game Changer. As the recent track record of Tamil directors in Tollywood is very discouraging, the focus now shifts towards Shankar who carries a strong following and craze among Telugu audiences. Shankar’s previous films were lapped up big time by audiences here. Robo, Aparichitudu, Boys, and Bharateeyudu emerged as blockbusters here.
A lot of buzz is surrounding Game Changer because of Shankar’s impressive track record in Tollywood. He has the taste to deliver universal subjects that cut across different territories. Game Changer has a very good potential to take a sensational opening in all areas. Only Shankar can break the jinx and prove that the language barrier can be negated if directors come up with convincing scripts. He has a good chance to end the flop streak of Tamil directors in Telugu.
Game Changer is progressing at a brisk pace. The film is slated for release next year.
