The death of Dalit Singhaiah in Palnadu district has created a stir across the state. At a time when suspicions are being raised that he died after being run over by a convoy vehicle of former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the forensic report has brought a crucial turn in the police investigation.

It has become clear that the allegations made by YSR Cadres that the videos that helped confirm that Singaiah died due to Jagan’s vehicle being morphed are not true. While YSRCP leaders have alleged that the videos of the incident were morphed, forensic experts have confirmed that they are real.

The investigation into the case has gained momentum with this report received by the police on Monday. Jaganmohan Reddy participated in a tour of Palnadu on June 18. A vehicle hit Singhaiah amidst a huge crowd. He died shortly after being seriously injured.

There were allegations that the vehicle was part of the convoy. However, initially, YSRCP leader Devineni Avinash tried to mislead the police by saying that the vehicle of his follower was the cause. Within a few days of the accident, the images of Singhaiah being crushed under Jagan’s vehicle went viral on social media. This became a topic of discussion.

While YSRCP leaders accused that the videos were fake, the police sent them to forensic test. Drone videos, CCTV camera footage, cellphone videos—all were examined by the forensic team. The forensic department’s analysis revealed that the videos from six mobiles were genuine.

They clarified that no morphing had taken place. This has brought clarity to the investigation of this case. The police are now preparing to take further action. A departmental inquiry is also underway against those who gave false information to the police immediately after the accident. A more in-depth investigation is now underway to find out who is responsible for hiding the truth.
