Monday, December 8, 2025
In an era where star power alone cannot guarantee box office success, audiences are increasingly gravitating towards films with strong content. One film currently generating significant attention is ‘Mirai’, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni and starring Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, and Shriya in pivotal roles. The recently released trailer has impressed viewers with its visuals while heightening anticipation for the film.
A Larger-Than-Life Story
‘Mirai’—a Japanese word meaning “hope for the future”—centers on a protagonist whose heroic actions aim to shape a better tomorrow. The storyline traces back to Emperor Ashoka’s Kalinga war and a divine secret that emerges from remorse, encompassing knowledge guarded for generations by nine warriors. The film follows a climactic event threatening this legacy. Director Karthik, who previously collaborated with Ravi Teja on Eagle, has drawn on his cinematography expertise to craft visually striking sequences, with over 1,600 CGI shots reported.
Cast, Expectations, and Release
Teja Sajja, known for his selective choice of projects, had approved the story prior to his previous success, Hanuman. Manchu Manoj plays a key antagonist, adding to the film’s appeal. The fantasy-thriller integrates elements inspired by Lord Rama, including a legendary weapon wielded by a mythical bird, and features narrative surprises between the lead actors. Scheduled for release on September 12, ‘Mirai’ will hit screens in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, and Marathi. The production team has finalized theatrical rights and aims to make the film widely accessible without increasing ticket prices.
