Hyderabad: VC Sajjanar, the Managing Director of TSRTC, has recommended that women utilizing the Mahalakshmi scheme, which offers free bus travel, must carry original identification cards such as Aadhaar and voter IDs. During a virtual review meeting, Sajjanar observed that many women were not carrying their original IDs while traveling, relying instead on photocopies or digital copies on smartphones.
He emphasized that such substitutes would not be acceptable and urged people to update their identification cards if necessary. Expressing gratitude to TSRTC staff for swiftly grasping and successfully implementing the scheme, the MD stressed the importance of women diligently obtaining tickets since the government would only reimburse TSRTC for valid tickets. Sajjanar noted instances of passengers footboarding on busy routes and requested cooperation during rush hours for everyone’s safety.
