Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS MLA KT Rama Rao criticized the Congress for making unfounded promises before elections to gain power. He specifically targeted the newly formed Congress government in Telangana, accusing them of deceiving the people to secure victory. KTR highlighted the challenges faced during their previous tenure, particularly emphasizing their efforts in achieving loan waivers.
He criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s swift promise of a Rs 2 lakh loan waiver within two days of assuming power, pledging to scrutinize its implementation. During a media interaction at the assembly premises on Wednesday, KTR mocked ministers’ claims of releasing a white paper on Telangana’s financial situation.
He asserted that the BRS government had consistently provided audit reports to the media over the past nine years, questioning the necessity for a white paper. KTR alleged that the Congress and the Revanth Reddy government are deliberately portraying the state as financially burdened. He called for a thorough examination of CAG reports and audit findings to guide future assurances, criticizing the Congress for revising their stance after assuming power.
