Essence of ‘Thandel’: Packs a Solid Punch

Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s next offering ‘Thandel’ has been making a lot of positive waves ever since it was announced because of the genre and the impressive promotions by the production house.

Now, the first glimpse ‘ Essence of Thandel’ is out this Saturday morning and it packs a solid punch with a gripping storyline, stunning visuals, intense dialogues and amazing makeover of the lead characters.

The two-minute video throws an insight into the story of Thandel and introduces the chemistry between the lead pair briefly. As rumoured, Thandel seems to be inspired by a real-life incident where a group of fishermen hailing from Coastal Andhra was captured by the Pakistan coast guard for illegal transgression of the sea border.

How they return to their homeland from the clutches of death at the hands of Pakistan is a miraculous adventure and we need to wait for the film’s release to know about the gutsy journey. By the way, the glimpse is a blend of patriotism and romance.

Sporting a raw and rustic avatar, Naga Chaitanya as Raju will take full credit for his stupendous makeover. His mannerisms and dialogues are a complete departure from what he essayed so far. His intense performance in the lock-up with Pakistani police is the high point of the video.

The icing on the cake is that Sai Pallavi makes an entry towards the end of the glimpse. She looks fabulous in a de-glam role and fits the character perfectly.

Director Chandoo Mondeti should be appreciated for coming up with an amazing teaser within a month after the shooting commenced. The way he will handle the love story and action part will decide the outcome of the film.

The production values are simply terrific and Devi Sri Prasad delivers a solid score that suits the setting and mood of the glimpse.
