In a setback to the most popular Telugu film actor, known as Tollywood Prince Mahesh Babu, the central investigating agency the Enforcement Department (ED) has issued notices to him. In its notice, the Central agency has asked him to appear for questioning on the 27th of this month.
The ED has issued notices to Mahesh Babu in the Sai Surya and Surana Group case. It is known that Mahesh Babu is the promoter of Sai Surya Developers and Surana projects. For this, the ED has found that he took Rs.5.9 crore as remuneration from Sai Surya Developers. The investigation revealed that Rs.3.5 crore was in cash and Rs.2.5 crore was transferred through RTGS.
In this context, the ED has charged Mahesh with influencing investments in the company. The ED investigation has found that Narendra Surana, chairman of Bhagyanagar Properties Private Limited, a company belonging to the Surana Group, and Satish Chandra Gupta, owner of its subsidiary Saisurya Developers, have cheated several people under the permanent houses scheme.
It has been concluded that several people who had given statements for their own houses were cheated. The investigation has revealed that plots were sold through these two companies in unauthorized layouts, the same plot was registered to several people using bi-numbers, and money was taken in cash without proper agreements.
In this way, more than Rs. 100 crore of black money was collected and diverted through various channels, ED officials said. They said that they have registered an ECNR and started an investigation after cases were registered against these two companies in various police stations in Hyderabad.
They said that during the two-day searches, they found Rs. 74.50 lakh in cash and Rs. 100 crore of black money. He said that unaccounted cash was seized from Narendra Surana’s office. He said that 11 cases have been registered against Satish Chandra in various police stations so far.
