Ahead of the Telangana elections, the Election Commission has taken a crucial decision. The EC transferred 13 SPs and Commissioners, one IAS, and four Collectors in the state.
Hyderabad CP CV Anand, Warangal CP Ranganath, Nizamabad CP Satyanarayana, and Khammam CP Vishnu Warrier have been transferred. Similarly, Rangareddy Collector Harish, Medchal Collector Amoy Kumar, Yadadri Collector Vinay Krishna Reddy, and Nirmal Collector Varun Reddy have been transferred ahead of the elections.
The decision was taken after assessing the performance of the officials. It can be remembered that during the by-election of the Munugode assembly seat, the Election Commission received huge allegations of misuse of money. So, the EC has taken the decision to transfer the officials. Also, it has directed the Telangana CS to send the panel list by five o’clock on Thursday evening.
The Election Commission has instructed the Chief Secretary not to assign any duties to the officials until the elections are completed.
