Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s upcoming action entertainer Eagle was supposed to hit the screens in the second week of January along with other biggies like Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav and Naa Saami Ranga. However, the makers have finally decided to back out from the overcrowded Sankranti season due to heavy competition for theatres.
This decision comes after days of suspense and drama as to which film will pull out from the race amidst huge lobbies from all quarters to get the maximum number of screens in Andhra and Telangana to take advantage of the festive season.
According to the latest reports from industry circles, all producers of remaining Sankranti releases have requested ‘Eagle’ team to postpone their film to a later date. Ace producer Dil Raju, president of TFCC, and other industry bigwigs have reportedly persuaded Eagle producer to shift the date and give other films some breathing space.
Also, the Eagle producer is assured of a solo release on February 9th. Hence, the film is officially postponed from Sankranti.
Eagle, directed by Karthik Ghattamaneni, is coming from the stables of People Media Factory. Anupama Parameshwaran is the female lead and it has Ravi Teja playing a snipper who embarks on a mission for a good cause.
Eagle will now hit the screens on February 9th. But, films like Tillu Square and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona are scheduled for release on the same date. So, it remains to be seen if Eagle will have a solo release or not.
