Eagle: Can Ravi Teja capitalise on solo release ?

Thursday, November 21, 2024

2023 turned out to be bittersweet for Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. While his performance in ‘Waltair Veerayya’ brought him good laurels, his solo releases like Ravanasura and Tiger Nageswara Rao left no traces at the box office, leaving him in a spot of bother as he will be under immense pressure to reinstate his market with his upcoming film Eagle.

Eagle, a full-throttle action saga in which he plays a ruthless assassin for a good cause, is slated for release this Friday. The Karthik Ghattamaneni directional was initially supposed to hit the screens during the Sankranti season. However, it was postponed to February 9th to accommodate other films.

As promised by the film chamber, Eagle will have a solo release at the box office. Other films that were slated for release on the same day have agreed to move out of the race as a kind gesture for Ravi Teja and his team.

So, Eagle will have no big competition at the box office. Only political propaganda film Yatra 2 will hit the screens a day before Eagle. Moreover, no big-budget films are up for release in the next two weeks. This is another advantage for Eagle.

The big question now is can Ravi Teja capitalize on the open ground and score a hit with Eagle? The film has created a solid buzz with action-packed trailers and teasers. Ravi Teja’s mannerisms and body language indicate that Eagle will be a commercial potboiler with a racy screenplay. The action blocks seem to be the major highlight for the film.

Happening production house People Media Factory is behind this film and the promotions have been handled very well so far.

If Eagle manages to garner a decent talk, there are good chances for the first weekend numbers to be super strong.
