Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan gained a huge following with his debut film Love Today, which resonated strongly with the younger audiences. He has now returned with another youthful entertainer, ‘Dragon,’ which was released on February 21, 2025.
Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, Dragon in Tamil (released as Return of the Dragon in Telugu) has become a massive success, crossing the 100 crore mark within 10 days of its theatrical release. The film, a coming-of-age comedy-drama about a college student, has pulled a significant youth audience to theaters.
It has a strong hold at the box office as the film entered its third week successfully. With Ajith’s recent film VidaaMuyarchi flopping and films like Dhanush’s directorial ‘Jaabilamma Neku Antha Kopama’ and Aadi Pinishetty’s ‘Shabdam’ receiving only moderate responses, Dragon is expected to enjoy a steady run.
Speaking of Dragon, it stars Pradeep Ranganathan, Anupama Parameswaran, and Kayadu Lohar in the main leads. The film is also co-written by Pradeep Ranganathan with the association of the film’s director Ashwath Marimuthu. Produced by AGS Entertainments, it also has an ensemble cast, including Gautham Vasudev Menon, KS Ravi Kumar, Mysskin, VJ Siddhu, Harshath Khan, Mariam George, Indhumathy Manigandan, Thenappan, and others in key roles. Leon James composed the musical score, with cinematography by Niketh Bommi and editing by Pradeep E. Raghav.
