Renowned filmmaker Jeethu Joseph, best known for the Drishyam franchise, has announced plans to make Drishyam 3, promising audiences a fresh cinematic experience. Speaking at a media conference, Joseph said he is experimenting with new genres and ideas, emphasizing that even if a project fails, it will still provide viewers with something novel. He noted that the upcoming film will differ from its predecessors, Drishyam and Drishyam 2.
Reflecting on his career, Joseph stated that he initially directed light-hearted films like My Boss and Mommy & Me. “After Drishyam, I got typecast in a certain image. Drishyam 2 was not planned solely based on the success of the first film but followed suggestions that a sequel would work. For Drishyam 3, the script required ten additional pages to ensure the story logic is tight. It’s too early to confirm whether there will be a Drishyam 4,” he explained.
The original Malayalam films Drishyam and Drishyam 2, starring Mohanlal, were widely praised for their suspense and thrills. Both films were remade in Telugu with Venkatesh, in Hindi with Ajay Devgn, and in Tamil featuring Kamal Haasan.
