NTR’s Devara is undoubtedly the next eagerly awaited pan-India film from South because the first part is slated for release on April 5th.
The fact that the film’s director Koratala Siva is coming off from an embarrassing debacle Acharya, which resulted in huge losses for all parties, has been a cause of concern for everyone including NTR’s fans from the very beginning of this project.
Moreover, this is the first time he working on a story that relies on a heavy amount of VFX effects and CG graphics. This is why a major portion of the film is being shot with the green mat technique.
Devara generated a lot of hype and anticipation initially because it is NTR’s immediate next project after Rajamouli’s RRR. The inclusion of Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor further boosted the buzz. But, the posters introducing the main characters in the story and those with heavy-duty weapons haven’t been either exceptional or exciting.
Even NTR’s makeover and Saif Ali Khan’s look didn’t evoke much interest. The genre and the backdrop of Devara are the only aspects that managed to trigger some buzz in the audience and trade circuits.
All eyes are now on the first look teaser which is going to be out on January 8th at 04:05 PM. Koratala Siva will need to come up with something tremendous and out-of-the-world to put an end to all inhibitions and doubts surrounding his ability to deliver a visual extravaganza.
Also, the output in the teaser assumes great significance because the theatrical business will largely depend on the impact it will create. In many areas, buyers are eagerly waiting for the teaser to buy the distribution rights. The OTT and satellite rights will also be at stake depending on the teaser.
Will the teaser offer the much-needed spark that has been missing in the posters unveiled so far? We have to wait for a few more hours.
