Hyderabad witnessed the inauguration of a fleet of 22 new Electric Green Metro Express non-AC buses by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) on Tuesday. The launch ceremony was graced by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, and R&B Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, along with Transport Commissioner Jyoti Buddha Prakash, TSRTC Managing Director VC Sajjanar, and other officials. This marks the debut of eco-friendly Electric non-AC buses in the state, featuring the Mahalakshmi scheme.
These buses, measuring 12 meters in length and accommodating 35 seats, boast a range of up to 225 km on a single charge, with a charging duration of 3 to 4 hours. In its ongoing commitment to eco-mobility, TSRTC has been operating 40 AC e-buses between various locations in Hyderabad and RGI Airport since March 2019, serving approximately 5000 passengers daily.
