The theatrical trailer of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film Custody is out this Friday evening and it promises a gripping and action-packed cop drama with intense narration and racy screenplay.
Playing out at just over two minutes, the trailer presents Chaitu as an upright and duty-bound police constable Shiva who believes that truth will eventually win and justice prevails in the end. He is on a mission to save Arvind Swamy, a ruthless criminal who committed so many murders, and keep the department on tenterhooks. The reason behind his intention seems to be the conflict point in the story which is quite interesting. In his journey, Chaitu needs to overcome so many professional hurdles and personal struggles. How he succeeds in his mission is what we need to see on the big screen when Custody releases on May 12th.
The trailer starts on an interesting note with Chaitu facing snide remarks from his higher officer for failing to perform his duties as a security officer to Chief Minister. This is followed by glimpses of his love track with Kriti Shetty. She is also a part of the mission to save the criminal. The rest of the trailer is filled with gripping and action-packed visuals till the end.
Naga Chaitanya seems to have played an earnest role with conviction. He looks the part in action episodes and packs a punch with his powerful mannerisms. Director Venkat Prabhu comes up with a content driven police story and presented Chaitu in an intense performance-oriented role. Aravind Swamy also got a substantial character in the film. It is not just a glamorous role for Kriti Shetty.
The background score rendered by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Illayaraja is the biggest takeaway for this trailer. The cinematography is top notch and the dialogues are very effective. The production values are impressive on the whole.
