Hyderabad: The Congress party has concluded the selection of two candidates for the upcoming MLC elections under the Telangana MLA quota. The chosen candidates are veteran party leaders Addanki Dayakar and Balmoor Venkat. The decision was communicated to them by senior Congress leaders in Delhi, who advised them to prepare the necessary nomination papers.
Addanki Dayakar, who had aspired for a ticket in the recent assembly elections from Tungaturthi, was not selected. Meanwhile, Balmoor Venkat, who contested as a Congress candidate in the 2021 Huzurabad by-election, faced defeat. The deadline for filing nominations for the MLC elections under the MLA quota is set for Thursday, January 18, and both candidates are expected to submit their nominations before the deadline.
