The Congress has unveiled its initial roster of 36 contenders for the imminent Lok Sabha elections. Telangana, in particular, has disclosed the names of four nominees vying for 17 Lok Sabha seats: Suresh Shetkar from Zaheerabad, Sunitha Mahender Reddy from Chevella, Kunduru Raghuveer Reddy (son of Jana Reddy) from Nalgonda, and Balaram Naik from Mahabubabad. The breakdown of candidates includes six from Chhattisgarh, six from Karnataka, fifteen from Kerala, two from Meghalaya, one from Nagaland, one from Sikkim, four from Telangana, and one from Tripura.
Rahul Gandhi is once again throwing his hat into the ring from Wayanad in Kerala, while Geetha has granted a ticket to Shivarajkumar from Shivamogga in Karnataka. The party’s central election committee, headed by national president Mallikarjun Kharge alongside top leaders Sonia Gandhi and KC Venugopal, convened at the AICC office on Thursday. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana in-charge Deepa Das Munshi, and others were present at the gathering.
