Niharika Konidela is introducing a new wave of talent to the big screen with ‘Committee Kurrollu’, produced under her banner, Pink Elephant Pictures. Scheduled for a theatrical release on August 9, the filmmakers shared the film’s trailer today.
Renowned actor Siddhu Jonnalagadda unveiled the film’s trailer at a grand trailer launch event held at Sandhya 70 MM in Hyderabad today.
The trailer promises a gripping tale of friendship, caste dynamics, and local politics set in a village in the Godavari region. It begins with a father explaining the ‘Jaathara’, a native festival of Goddess Barinkalamma, to his son, emphasizing that carrying the basket of sacrifices is the most important event.
The trailer highlights the importance of ‘Jaathara’ within the village, illustrating its deep connection to the lives of the villagers, as it occurs once every 12 years. As the festival approaches, conflicts arise among childhood friends who grew up together and are now divided by differences due to caste and the importance of the reservation system on college admissions. This escalates into a small fight and causes tension throughout the community.
Despite the conflicts, the villagers aim for a smooth celebration of ‘Jaathara’. The brewing chaos hints at the youth’s struggle to mend their differences and to maintain unity in the village, promising to unravel in the film.
The youthful and vibrant film is helmed by Yadhu Vamsi, with a talented cast of Sandeep Saroj, Yaswanth Pendyala, Eshwar Rachiraju, Raadhya, Tejaswi Rao, Teena Sravya, Prasad Behara, Trinadh Varma, and many others, and Sai Kumar in the pivotal role. Anudeep Dev composed soulful music for this flick.
